The European supercomputer LUMI, one of the fastest and greenest of its kind in the world, boosts research, employment, and competitiveness in Finland and across Europe. Throughout its life cycle, LUMI will be one of the most high-profile scientific instruments in the world.
Unfortunately the super computer is located in Kajaani, which is 600km further North than Helsinki, so we will not be able to visit the actual data centre. We will be able to ask questions about it to the people from CSC in their office in Helsinki.
IQM is a global leader in building quantum computers
In 2018 a group of ambitious scientists took the (quantum) leap to turn their theory to practice. The team started with breakthroughs in developing the tech towards large-scale quantum processors. But what started as a quest to create the best quantum processing units (QPUs) evolved into building and delivering full-stack quantum computers that help create ecosystems for the quantum community worldwide.
